Procedure

Your doctor assesses the area and marks the treatment zone. Local anaesthetic numbs the skin. Your doctor then places the gel in the deep tissue layer with a cannula. The session takes 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the area.

Recovery

Expect swelling, tenderness and bruising for 1 to 2 weeks. Most people return to desk work the next day. Skip intense exercise and direct pressure on the area for 2 weeks. Follow any compression advice from your doctor.
